" The most often asked question in the café when people discover we are a French and Welsh partnership is: What type of food we provide?
Well, although my training pushes me towards a more continental sort of cooking, I always have to remember we are situated at the heart of Wales.
Therefore, we offer quite a wide variety of food, going from Chicken Curry to Beef Lasagna, through Fish and Chips to a simple Baked Potato, or just a nice flavourful Bacon sandwich!!From a light lunch, more substantial meal to just a little treat, afternoon tea or other.
When asked what part of the meal they enjoy best, the customers will mostly reply.....
Our home-cooked range includes the classics: Bread and Butter Pudding, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Bramley Apple Pie as well as Gooseberry and Almond Tart, Lemon Tart and much more.
Our cakes are also a must-have when you come to the café. All prepared in-house, they include Date & Walnut, Coconut & Gooseberry, Classic Chocolate, Lemon, Traditional Barabrith and, best for last...... Fruit Scones, with homemade jam and clotted cream.
We believe in good, simple food at affordable prices, we also believe in going back to our roots, harvesting what Nature has to offer and cooking it the traditional way.
Indeed, we strive to prepare our meals using as many home-grown, local( sometimes as local as our own backyard) and natural products as we can and following traditional tasty recipes. The vast majority of our menu is home-cooked. Our meat is mainly provided by T.J.Roberts, our local award-winning butcher located in Bala, and our vegetables are delivered fresh daily.
We are available for booking for large groups.
It's up to you to come and give us a try!
